RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University of North Dakota Vs. Western Michigan University

The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team won its sixth Penrose Cup with a 3-0 victory over the  Western Michigan University in National Collegiate Hockey Conference play Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. The No. 3 Fighting Hawks (24-8-2 overall, 15-6-1 NCHC) received goals from Louis Jamernik V, Jackson Blake and Owen McLaughlin and a 35-save shutout from goalie Ludvig Persson to claim their third title in four years. The Huskies (18-13-1 overall, 9-13-0 NCHC) couldn’t dent the net against Persson, who allowed only three goals on 72 shots in the weekend sweep for UND. WMU goalie Cameron Rowe finished the night with 24 saves. The Fighting Hawks will close their regular season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha for a weekend series beginning Friday night from Baxter Arena. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
