Gavin Hain has been a roll for the University of North Dakota men’s hockey team. The fifth-year senior scored twice and Ethan Frisch and Carson Albrecht each scored once as the Fighting Hawks defeated the College of the Holy Cross 4-1 to complete a weekend sweep of the Crusaders on Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. Hain has scored six goals in his last six games — going back to last year — as UND claimed went to 2-0 on the season. The Fighting Hawks defeated the Crusaders (0-2) 6-0 on Friday night in the series opener. UND goalie Jakob Hellsten stopped 19 of 20 shots, while Holy Cross netminder Louden Hogg had 20 saves. Charlie Spence scored the Crusaders’ lone goal. No. 3 UND hosts No. 6 Quinnipiac this weekend. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
