No. 4 North Dakota State University handed No. 16/23 University of North Dakota a 42-21 Missouri Valley Conference loss Saturday in the Fargodome. The Fighting Hawks (7-4 overall, 5-3 MVFC) trailed 28-14 after the first half but couldn’t overcome the 14-0 first quarter lead racked up by the Bison (9-2, 7-1 MVFC). Cam Miller led NDSU, rushing for 93 yards on 16 carries and five touchdowns. He was also 8-for-12 passing for 159 yards. NDSU finished with 522 total yards of offense, with 363 yards on the ground and 159 through the air. UND’s Tommy Schuster was 11 for 19 passing for 153 yards and two touchdowns, one each to Bo Belquist and Garett Magg. Quincy Vaughn rushed for the other UND touchdown. The game was the last regular season tilt for both teams. NDSU is in position to earn a top-4 seed and an at-large bid for the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs, while UND awaits its playoff fate this morning. (Check out more  photos from Russ Hons here.)
