RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. North Dakota State University

The University of North Dakota football team held North Dakota State University to just one touchdown and three field goals Saturday afternoon in the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, but the Bison defense was a bit better, holding the Fighting Hawks to one touchdown and one field goal en route to a 16-10 Missouri Valley Conference win. The 10th-ranked Fighting Hawks (2-2 overall, 0-1 MVFC) and No. 5 NDSU (4-0 overall, 1-0 MVFC) both failed to reach 300 yards of offense in the two teams’ first meeting in Grand Forks since 2003. Running back Otis Weah rushed 19 times for 85 yards, and quarterback Tommy Schuster was 18-for-32 for 176 yards passing to lead the UND offense. Running back Luke Skokna caught six passes for 50 yards. UND’s only touchdown came on a 30-yard pass from Schuster to Bo Bequest. Quarterback Quincy Patterson, a first-year transfer from Virginia Tech, was 4-for-10 passing for 48 yards for the Bison and carried the ball 19 times for 92 yards and a touchdown. NDSU’s Jake Reinholz kicked three field goals, while UND’s Adam Stage kicked one. UND returns to play Oct. 9, when it takes on the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.
