RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. South Dakota State University

The University of North Dakota football team knocked off its second nationally ranked team in two weeks with a 28-17 win over No. 3 South Dakota State University on Saturday afternoon in the Alerus Center in Missouri Valley Conference play. Last week, the Fighting Hawks (2-0 overall, 2-0 MVFC) defeated No. 24-ranked Southern Illinois University in its first-ever MVFC contest. The Fighting Hawks trailed the Jackrabbits (1-1 overall, 1-1 MVFB) 14-7 after the first half before before rallying for three touchdowns in the second half. UND was led  by running back Otis Weah, who rushed for two touchdowns and ran for 88 yards, and Luke Skokna, who had 73 yards on the ground and one touchdown. UND’s other score came on a 16-yard pass to Garett Maag from quarterback Tommy Schuster, Schuster was 20-32 and 184 yards. SDSU’s only touchdown was a 76-yard pass from Mark Gronowski to Jaxon Janke. The Jacks also had a 39-yard field goal from Cole Frahm. The Fighting Hawks will play their third third straight home game Thursday against the University of South Dakota. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
