The University of North Dakota women’s basketball team, behind the scoring of seniors Makailah Dyer, Samantha Roscoe and Leah Szabla, defeated the University of Northern Colorado 75-68 on Saturday in Betty Engelstad Sioux Center to move closer to a Big Sky Conference title. Dyer scored 17 points and added 11 rebounds, Roscoe had 14 points and three boards and Szabla chipped in 13 points and six rebounds to move UND to 14-2 in the league play and 19-8 overall. Savannah Scott led the Bears (12-4 BSC, 20-7 overall) with 19 points. Katie Longwell and Courtney Smith added 18 and 14 points, respectively. The Fighting Hawk need just one more win or a Montana State loss to clinch at least a share of the conference’s regular season title. UND heads to Sacramento State and Portland State next week. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
