Senior Mia Lloyd continued her impressive play down the stretch, scoring 15 points adding 15 rebounds as the University of North Dakota women’s basketball team handed the University of Montana a 73-61 Big Sky Conference loss Wednesday night in Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. The double-double was Lloyd’s 35th of her UND career and her 10th of the season. The victory gave the Fighting Hawks, 16-12 overall and 12-5 in the BSC, a season sweep of the Lady Griz (18-10, 11-6), and coupled with a Weber State loss Wednesday, also clinched a top-four finish in league play and a first-round bye in the postseason league tournament. Makailah Dyer added 14 points and Jill Morton tied a career best with 10 off the bench for the Fighting Hawks. Kayleigh Valley led Montana with 20, while McCalle Feller added 19. UND closes out the regular season at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, hosting the first-place Montana State Bobcats. Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.
