RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University of North Dakota Vs. Minnesota State-Mankato, January 30, 2016

The University of North Dakota women’s hockey team maintained its hold on third place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association with a 5-5 tie against Minnesota State-Mankato on Saturday in Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Fighting Hawks picked up the extra point by winning the shootout  on a Sam LaShomb goal. Coupled with Friday night’s 2-1 win, UND improved to 11-7-4 in the WCHA and 14-8-4 overall. Mankato fell to 0-19-3 in league play and 3-21-4 overall. Defenseman Halli Krzyzaniak led the Fighting Hawks with two goals and an assist. Adding single goals were Amy Menke, Meghan Default and Becca Kohler. Jordan McLaughlin led the Mavericks with two goals. UND’s Shelby Amsley-Benzie had 14 saves in goal, while Mankato’s Katie Bidulka stopped 37 shots. The Fighting Hawks return to action next weekend when they travel to Minneapolis to play the second-place Minnesota Gophers. Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.
