The Grand Forks KnightRiders girls hockey team did something Friday night it hadn’t done the past eight games against cross-river rival East Grand Senior High. It won. The KnightRiders, behind Abigail Schauer’s two goals, including the game-winner, defeated the Green Wave 3-2 in Grand Forks’ Purpur Arena. Also scoring for Grand Forks was Belle LaCombe. Tiffany Hanson scored both Green Wave goals. KnightRiders goalie Teresa Mattson had 20 saves, while Megan Birkholz of Senior High had 22. The KnightRiders upped their record to 12-6, while the Green Wave fell to 10-15. Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.
