PAULA MEHMEL: Shoot The Rapids — Cruelity Is Never Of Christ

If you want to understand the difference between Christian nationalism and being a Christ follower look no further than the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson.

This man who spouts off about “Christian values” spent Wednesday trying to silence a damning ethics report of  a man whose vile publicly admitted actions make him unqualified to be attorney general, in order to secure power for MAGA and an agenda of revenge and retribution.

He then used his power to marginalize and demonize the first trans member of Congress, whose ethics by all reports, don’t require any shielding.

Christian nationalists care about power, control and domination of “their” interpretation of what is right, which apparently now includes drug use and paid sex, as long as you hate the right people.

Jesus cares about those on the margins and shows love to all people, leading with love and not division.

The song says, “They will know we are Christians by our love.”

The Christian nationalist anthem is, “They will know we are Christian nationalists by our love of power at all cost.”  Including any thread of human decency, it seems.

Cruelity is never of Christ.
