RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. North Dakota State University

The University of North Dakota’s No. 2 ranking didn’t seem to impress No. 4 North Dakota State University on Saturday in Gate City Bank Field in the FargoDome as the Bison defeated the Fighting Hawks 34-13 in Missouri Valley Football Conference play. The Bison (5-1 overall, 4-1 MVFC) won its 32nd straight home game in handing the Fighting Hawks (4-1 overall, 4-1 MVFC) their first loss of the season. Running back Hunter Luepke led NDSU, rushing 28 times for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Otis Weah was one the few bright spots for UND, running for 129 yards and a career-high 74-yard score on only 13 carries. UND quarterback Tommy Schuster was 13-for-26 passing for 143 yards, one touchdown and one interception. UND’s only other score came on a 21-yard pass from Schuster to Bo Belquist to cut the Bison lead to 21-13 in the third quarter, but it was all NDSU after that. North Dakota returns to play Saturday at Youngstown State in Ohio. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
