RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. University Of Denver

Jasper Weatherby scored two goals and added an assist to lead the University of North Dakota men’s hockey team to a 5-2 National Collegiate Hockey Conference victory over the University of Denver on Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Fighting Hawks (15-4-1) solidified their hold on first place in the NCHC with 44 points, four ahead of St. Cloud State University with four games to play, three of them at home, in seeking their second straight Penrose Cup. Weatherby scored for the fourth game in a row and has five goals in that span to push his season total to eight. Shane Pinto also scored in his sixth straight game (nine goals). Also scoring goals for UND were Judd Caulfield and Collin Adams. Jake Durflinger and Carter Savoie scored for the Pioneers (7-12-1). Peter Thome started in goal for the injured Adam Scheel and had 18 saves. DU goalie Magnus Chrona stopped 16 shots. UND hosts the University of Nebraska-Omaha for two games next weekend.
