RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. University Of Denver

The University of North Dakota women’s basketball team staged a dramatic comeback against the University of Denver on Saturday in Betty Engelstad Arena but fell short, losing 92-91 in overtime to the Pioneers in Summit League action. The Fighting Hawks (10-17 overall, 5-9 Summit), trailed the Pioneers (15-12 overall, 8-6 Summit) by 18 points in the third quarter but took a three-point lead with 19.6 seconds. A buzzer-beating shot by Denver’s Haley sent the game to overtime. UND was led by Lexi Klabo, who scored a career-high 33 points and had11 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. Julie Fleecs added 15 points and Melissa Dailey 14. Four Denver players scored in double figures, led by Lauren Loven with 24. Madison Nelson chipped in 19, Samantha Romanowski 15 and Tsimba Malonga 10. The Fighting Hawks end regular play this week, playing at Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday and South Dakota State on Saturday.
