RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. University Of Minnesota-Duluth

The University of Minnesota-Duluth men’s hockey exploded for four goals in the second period — two on the power play — to propel the Bulldogs to a 5-0 win over the University of North Dakota in National Collegiate Hockey Conference action Friday night in Duluth’s AMSOIL Arena. It was UND’s fifth straight loss at AMSOIL. Kobe Roth scored twice to lead UMD (10-2-1 overall, 4-1-0 NCHC). Parker Mackay, Mikey Anderson and Tanner Laderoute rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs. UND starting goalie Peter Thome had 18 saves before being relieved by in the second period by Adam Scheel, who stopped seven shots. UMD goalie Hunter Shepard stopped 20 shots in recording the shutout. The Fighting Hawks were playing without three of their top forwards, Nick Jones, Joel Janatuinen and Collin Adams, all out with injuries. The two teams meet again tonight.
