RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery —North Dakota High School Hockey Tournaments

Grand Forks Central, behind a stellar performance in goal by Kaleb Johnson, won its second straight North Dakota boys high school hockey championship with a 4-2 win over Bismarck Century on Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Bismarck Blizzard claimed the girls title with a 3-0 victory over Fargo North-South earlier in the day. Johnson, the MVP for the boys game and also an all-tournament selection, had 27 saves for the Knights (25-1-2). Cooper Leininger stopped 17 shots on goal for the Patriots (22-5). Hunter Bjorge, Brandon Holt, Mitchell Idalski and Zach Murphy scored goals for the Knights, while Casey Foss and Isaiah Thomas scored for Century. Central’s William Lawson-Body, also an all-tourney selection with Bjorge and Johnson, led all tournament scorers with three goals and four assists. Britta Curl of the champion Blizzard (22-4), was the girls MVP and well as the Senior Athlete of the Year. Grand Forks Red River      (21-4-2) took the third-place game in the boys division with a 3-1 win over Fargo Davies, while West Fargo defeated Davies for third in the girls tourney.
