Samantha Roscoe scored a career-high 22 points and Makailah Dyer chipped in 20 but it wasn’t enough as the University of North Dakota women’s basketball team fell 62-56 to Big Sky Conference foe Weber State on Thursday night in Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Roscoe was  10-of-12 from the field for the Fighting Hawks, who fell to 0-3 in conference play and 4-10 overall. Weber State remained perfect in league play (2-0) and moved to 10-3 overall. UND trailed 31-25 at halftime and tied the game twice in the final five minutes, the second time when Roscoe hit a jumper with 1:17 left. Weber State put the game away when Regina Okoye scored four points on two straight steals in the final minute of the game to give the Wildcats for their first-ever win over North Dakota (5-1). Deeshyra Thomas led the Wildcats in scoring with 20 points. UND returns to action at 2 p.m. Saturday hosting Idaho State in the Betty. Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.
