RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. North Dakota State University

The University of North Dakota dropped a 38-7 decision to topped-ranked North Dakota State University in the much-anticipated nonconference matchup of the two former North Central Conference foes Saturday in the Fargodome. The win evened UND’s record at 1-1, while NDSU is now 2-0. UND’s lone score came in the second quarter on a 3-yard run by James Johannesson, who rushed seven times for 21 yards. The score cut the Bison lead to 14-7. Fighting Hawks quarterback Andrew Zimmerman was 16-for-27 for 150 yards and two interceptions. Receiver Garrett Maag had six catches for 76 yards and Noah Wanzek added 46 yards on six receptions. NDSU was led by quarterback Trey Lance, who ran for 95 yards and two scores and was 11-for-15 for 162 yards passing with two touchdowns. Starting next year, the two teams will be facing off in Summit League play. The Fighting Hawks return to play Saturday when they host 25th-ranked Sam Houston State in the Alerus Center.
