RON SCHALOW: Trump Calls His Right-Wing Terrorists To War

Last week, our president stated the following:

“These people, like the Antifa — they better hope that the opposition to Antifa decides not to mobilize. Because if they do, they’re much tougher. Much stronger. Potentially much more violent. And Antifa’s going to be in big trouble.

“Because if you look, the other side, it’s the military. It’s the police. It’s a lot of very strong, a lot of very tough people. Tougher than them. And smarter for them.

“They’re sitting back and watching and they’re getting angrier and angrier.” — Newsweek

Could DT at least try to make his directives a little bit coded or a tad dog whistley?

The cops and military are already mobilized to beat hell, but DT misspoke. Trump meant (this happens often) to say that the “opposition to Antifa” were the downtrodden sweaty holders of Tiki torches marching as to war in Charlottesville. Va.

Millions in the movement did not participate in the Unite the Right rally, most due to previous commitments involving cowardice. Also, a high percentage of the torchbearers were handsome-impaired by modern standards. I have a theory about that.

The police carry about 20 devices, including the modern flashlight that illuminates without fire, although the Brits call a flashlight a torch. Whatever you call them, the flashlights weren’t stolen from mom’s backyard.

Ah, just kidding. Trump was lying.

Antifa members — they are less organized than your junk drawer — have never set out to beat up or harass a group of cops. Cops have low opinions of violence, and that’s where most of their enmity toward Antifa ends, since I hope that most cops are firmly against racism, white supremacy and Nazis. Donnie’s “… the other side.”

I’m not condoning violence, but if you have to hit someone, make it a Nazi.

“Anti-fascist activists and others were present as counter-protesters at the now-infamous Charlottesville, Va., white nationalist rally last year.”  — TPM

If they did take a run at the police, there would be a lot of Antifa people twitching around on the concrete like beached salmon, tased past their maximum allowable amperage. Pzzzzt. The smart and fast ones, who saw the electricity coming, faded off into a misty bog. No. They just made a break for it.

So if you notice a spike in the number of mosques and temples getting shot up, racial killings and more bombs gumming up the efficiency of our mail service, think of Cult45. Trump won’t even call the recent Jewish killings terrorism, or the boxes of bombs, or the murder of two blacks in Kentucky by a Trump fan. In fact, all three incidents involved fans von Trumpf.

The Postal Serice should consider putting out a $10,000 stamp just for explosives, just to f*** with a simple-minded Red Hat like Cesar Sayoc.

If you wind up in the middle of a terrorist attack, it’s twice as likely the last person you see is a white-right terrorist than a radical Islamist. It probably won’t matter at the time.

While terrorists motivated by Trump are on the attack, he ignores an established threat. POTUS will never out these dudes. These white guys aren’t in strollers a thousand miles away, so what’s the worry. These specimens represent a dark sector of 45’s base.

And Trump’s base is Kevin Cramer’s base. Do you suppose our new senator will alert anyone to this threat? I doubt it. Public safety has never been high on Kevin’s list.

“The Anti-Defamation League describes the Antifa ideology as ‘rooted in the assumption that the Nazi party would never have been able to come to power in Germany if people had more aggressively fought them in the streets in the 1920s and ’30s.’” — The Hill

I have no hope for Cramer and Hoeven and – even Armstrong (yet to be tested) – that they will say anything in their Senate jobs and in the House job except: “pass the cheese.” Excellent essay, Ron.
