RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. Sam Houston State University

The University of North Dakota football team rebounded in Week 3 of the season with a big 24-23 win over No. 5-ranked Sam Houston State University on Saturday in Bowers Stadium in Huntsville, Texas. Noah Wanzek’s 8-yard, fourth-down touchdown with less than five minutes left in the game was the difference for the Fighting Hawks (1-1) and snapped the Bearkats’ 21-game home winning streak. UND quarterback Nate Ketteringham completed 16-of-29 for 189 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 43 yards. Brady Oliveira scored the other UND touchdown on a 3-yard-run. UND’s placekicker Brady Leach’s 26-yard field rounded out the scoring. On the ground, the Hawks were led by John Santiago, who rushed for 58 yards on 13 carries. Oliveira added 53 yards and James Johanneson ran nine times for 45 yards. Izzy Adeoti led UND receivers with 82 yards. On defense, Noah Larson led the way for the Hawks, registering nine tackles. Evan Hom chipped in four pass breakups. North Dakota returns to action Saturday, hosting Idaho State in the annual Homecoming game and the 53rd Potato Bowl.
