RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota Vs. University of Montana

The University of North Dakota women’s softball team shut out the University of Montana 4-0 on Saturday in the Alerus Center to complete a Big Sky Conference weekend sweep of the Grizzlies. The Fighting Hawks (19-18 overall, 5-1 Big Sky) defeated the Grizzlies (15-19 overall, 3-3 Big Sky ) 3-0 and 3-1 in a Friday doubleheader. The Fighting Hawks took over first place in the Big Sky with the sweep. Angel Love and Kaylin VanDomelen led UND in Saturday’s win. Love hit a three-run homer and and VanDomelen threw her second straight shutout, allowing just four hits with eight strikeouts without issuing a walk. North Dakota returns to play Tuesday at South Dakota State, returning to Big Sky play next weekend at Southern Utah. Jailene Carpio of UND had hits in all three weekend games.
