Unheralded

RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota vs. Montana State University

Samantha Roscoe’s  first-career double-double — 12 points, 12 rebounds — were not enough for the University of North Dakota women’s basketball team as the Fighting Hawks dropped a 74-71 overtime decision to Big Sky Conference foe Montana State University on Thursday night in Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. UND (9-7, 4-1 BSC), which had rallied from a 12-point deficit, missed a chance to send the game to a second overtime when Makailah Dyer’s 3-point attempt at the buzzer rimmed out. Dyer led the Hawks with 19 points. MSU (11-4, 4-1 BSC) was led by reigning co-Big Sky Player of the Week, Peyton Ferris, who scored a game-high 32 points. UND returns to play Saturday afternoon when it hosts the University of Montana. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
