Unheralded

RUSS HONS: Photo Gallery — University Of North Dakota vs. South Dakota State University

The combination of Macy Miller and Madison Guebert were too much for the University of North Dakota women’s basketball team Tuesday night as the Fighting Hawks dropped a 83-72 nonconference decision to visiting South Dakota State University before a small-than-usual crowd of 1,200 in Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Blizzard Alivia kept many would-be fans at home as the Hawks dropped to 2-5 on the season. SDSU (7-1) was led by Miller, who recorded a game-high 26, while Guebert had 13 of her 25 in the first quarter to push the Jacks in front for good. North Dakota had four players in double figures, led by Fallyn Freije’s 14 points. Lexi Klabo chipped in 13, while Leah Szabla had 12 and Makailah Dyer had 11. UND returns to action Saturday when it travels to Fargo to play North Dakota State University. Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.
