Five different players scored as the University of North Dakota men’s hockey team came from behind to beat Western Michigan University 5-4 on Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. The win gave the Fighting Hawks, 28-5-3 overall and 19-4-1 in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, their 11th series sweep this season and moved them to No. 1 in the Pairwise Rankings, ahead of Quinnipiac University. On Senior Night, two of the five honorees — Drake Caggiula and Bryn Chyzyk — scored for UND. Also potting goals for the Fighting Hawks were freshmen Brock Boeser and Shane Gersich and junior Troy Stecher. Colt Conrad, Michael Rebry, Griffen Molino and Nolan LaPorte scored for the Broncos, 8-22-3 overall and 5-18-1 in the NCHC. UND goaltender sophomore Cam Johnson had just one save, allowing three goals, before being pulled in favor of junior Matt Hrynkiw, who made 16 saves.
