It was the Quenton Hooker show Thursday night in Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. The junior guard scored a career-high 38 point and surpassed the 1,000-point mark in his UND career as the Fighting Hawks defeated Portland State University 80-77 in a Big Sky Conference men’s basketball contest. Hooker broke UND’s Division I single-game scoring record as the Fighting Hawks, 14-12 overall and 9-6 in the BSC, won their  fourth-straight home game to stay in the hunt for a first-round bye at the Big Sky Conference Tournament. Freshman Geno Crandall chipped in 13 points and five assists and sophomore Drick Berstine and freshman Conner Avant each added 10 points. Cameron Forte was the Vikings’ leading scorer with 24 points. He added 13 rebounds. PSU, 9-17 overall and 5-10 in the BSC, also got 18 points off the bench from forward De’Sean Parsons. UND closes out its home schedule at 2:05 p.m. Saturday against Sacramento State. Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.
